Athena Nadalin is a 25-year-old indie-pop singer-songwriter from Southern Ontario, currently based in Toronto. First being drawn to music by learning the guitar as a teen, songwriting has become second nature to Nadalin in the past few years as she’s dived into producing and releasing music professionally. Her fascination with the ability of music and lyrics to evoke and explain something as abstract as a feeling is obvious in her delicate and introspective writing style, akin to powerhouses like Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo. Effectively mastering the depiction of emotion has always been a goal in her songwriting.
Nadalin released her first single “California” in April 2023 and is set to release her debut album, Had to Happen, in July 2024. The ten-track record mixes storytelling with modern pop influences to depict a narrative of love, loss, and the resilience of spirit. Guitar-heavy and saturated with lyrics, the record delineates Nadalin’s attention to detail and curiosity of heart, while defining her as an authentic, thoughtful artist.
She graduated with a Masters of Media Studies from Western Ontario University in 2022 where she became an avid performer in the London, Ontario area and has had songs chart on local radio. She now resides in Toronto and is excited to play new venues, expand her audience, and share the album with the community.
